On the occasion of the European Cyber Security Month, GÉANT will again offer numerous articles, interviews and blog posts from the field of IT security on its CONNECT website in October 2022. Furthermore, a webinar series on the topic will start on 3 October (free participation, registration required).

The annual security conference of the Swiss NREN SWITCH will be held in Bern and online this year - unfortunately at a rather inconvenient date for Austrian participants: on 26 October 2022. The conference is free of charge and open to all who are responsible for or interested in security awareness.

Like all our Annual Reports, the latest issue is freely available as a PDF. We will gladly send printed copies free of charge upon request.

Welcome to ACOnet!

ACOnet provides a nation-wide fibre optic backbone with high-performance access to international academic networks via GÉANT, as well as to the Internet. Furthermore, ACOnet offers its members various target-group-specific services to support research projects and communities.

ACOnet and COVID-19:

The ACOnet team is working from the home office again since 19 November 2021. Our availability has not changed, however. You can reach us Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00, CEST; preferably by e-mail but also by phone (see contact information). In the case of an emergency you may also call us outside our office hours and leave a message. If necessary, we will call back swiftly.

Since 2013, ACOnet is engaged in the area of distributed performances / telematic music in real-time over high performance data networks. After three internationally successful multisite performances under the title net:art - near in the distance, the next step was to create the comprehensive website - a platform that promotes interactive live streaming for e-learning and productions of the performing arts. The website offers an introduction to relevant technologies, documentations (videos, photos, info) of previous shows, concepts for new collaborations and links to international cooperation partners.
