A new logo for ACOnet

After more than 30 years, we will part with our logo on 1 October 2022. It will be superseded by a visual umbrella brand for ACOnet, ACONET Association and ACOmarket GmbH. In the course of this, we are also renewing all our forms and documents, including the "ACOnet Acceptable Use Policy" and the "Principles for Participation in ACOnet".

October is Cyber Security Month!

On the occasion of the European Cyber Security Month in October 2022, GÉANT will again offer numerous articles, interviews and blog posts from the field of IT security on its CONNECT website. Furthermore, a webinar series on the topic will start on 3 October (free participation, registration required).

SWITCH Security Awareness Day

The annual security conference of the Swiss NREN SWITCH will be held in Bern and online this year - unfortunately at a rather inconvenient date for Austrian participants: on 26 October 2022. The conference is free of charge and open to all who are responsible for or interested in security awareness.

ACO-TEC Conference

On 22 September 2022, the first ACO-TEC will take place in Vienna: an IT conference for the field of science and education, organized by ACOmarket GmbH. The program also includes a presentation by TU Berlin about a hacker attack in 2021. All interested parties are welcome; employees of ACOnet participants can register free of charge.

Ars Electronica 2022: hosted by JKU, powered by ACOnet

Kepler's Gardens on the JKU campus in Linz will again be the central location of the Ars Electronica Festival in 2022 (7-11 September, this time under the motto "Welcome to Planet B"). ACOnet will once again support JKU and the festival with additional network capacities. We are looking forward to this cooperation!
