KUKIT is a German abbreviation for "Arts, Culture, and IT". The regular KUKIT Meetings were initiated by KHM-Museumsverband and ACOnet. We foster an unpretentious exchange of knowledge and experience as a basis for interdisciplinary resource management.

Take Some Time

Since 2012, we have been organizing 2 to 3 meetings per year to discuss digitization topics of interest to art and cultural institutions.

The format of the meetings is a three-hour program, which we develop together with the respective hosts.

  • Key data on the KUKIT Meetings (ACONET Community Programme)

Become Familiar

We always start with an introduction, in which the host organization presents its institution, an exhibition, or temporary special projects as a guided tour. We then offer lectures on topics the community requests and allow plenty of time for discussion.

Previous hosts have included the Natural History Museum Vienna, the Werkstätten- und Kulturhaus WUK, the Weltmuseum Wien, the Universalmuseum Joanneum / Kunsthaus Graz, the Vienna State Opera, and the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz.

Shape

The potential of this event series is most gratifying when it leads to collaborations and projects among the participants.

The best example is the Fiber-Optic Ring Vienna (LWL-Ring Wien), which was developed within the KUKIT sphere. Since 2015, this fully redundant fiber-optic ring has connected locations of
KHM-Museumsverband and Natural History Museum Vienna, the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Schönbrunn Palace, and MuseumsQuartier Wien:
